Mrs. Irene Murphy Obituary (1926

Dorchester – Irene Murphy (Labbe) a long-time resident of the Dorchester area, passed away peacefully on Sunday, the 31st of December of Pneumonia. Born on August 12th 1926, Irene lived a full and happy life. Irene passed away at age 91 surrounded by her loving family. Irene was the loving wife of the late Rene Droz and the late William J. Murphy (Billy). Happily married for many years, Irene and Billy lived and raised their family together in Dorchester until his death on December 6th 1996. Irene was a loving mother, homemaker and caretaker who was always there for her family and friends. Irene was stunning and classy and enjoyed to be flashy. Irene leaves behind her two sons Rene and Paul Droz and her daughter Winnie O’Donnell. Her 8 Grandchildren, John Droz; Paula Brennan; Joseph, Michael & Eric Fitzpatrick; Jessica and David O’Donnell. Great Grandchildren, Amber and Josh Tuplin and Raven Fitzpatrick. Irene also leaves behind her beloved 2 brothers Paul and Danny Labbe as well as many many dearly loved nephew and nieces. Irene is predeceased by her 2 cherished daughters Georgette Droz and Emily Fitzpatrick. Her dearly beloved son William Murphy, Jr (Billy). Her much loved parents, Anthony and Emilienne Labbe. Her beloved 3 brothers, Robert, Joseph (Geno) and Anthony (Junior) Labbe and her beloved 2 sisters Rita (Labbe) Gaston and Lillian Labbe (Babe). “For those who know and will miss Irene, please find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared Irene’s love” Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 7th from 2 – 5 p.m. in the McHoul Family Funeral Home, 354 Adams Street, Dorchester. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
