Mr. Elrick Colin Payne Obituary (1945

Elrick Colin Payne, 74, of Boston passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA. He was the beloved husband of Greta (Jones) Payne. Born on November 17, 1945 in Saint Michael, Barbados he was the son of Joseph Collymore and Olga Payne. Elrick was educated at the Modern Secondary School and went to work for M.C.W. of Barbados until his migration to the United States. Elrick, a Seventh-Day Adventist was also member of Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Mechanics Friendly Society and the Preston Unity of West Indies. He enjoyed many activities that included, playing National Cricket and Football (Soccer) in his youth for Barbados. He also enjoyed watching those sports along with Golf, Track and Field, and Tennis after his retirement. In addition to his wife, Elrick is survived by his three children, Edward Bedford of St. Michael, Barbados, Renaldo Payne Sr. of Boston, MA and Keisha Bennett of Brooklyn New York. His grandchildren, Renaldo Waithe, Renaldo Payne Jr. and Aleysha Best. Elrick is also survived by his brothers, Malcolm Payne of Barbados and David Payne of St. Phillip, Barbados. The family of Elrick Payne would like to extend gratitude to all the care givers who assisted in the care of Elrick. Here rests a man who followed his own creed. He was idolized, loved, and respected by his family, friends, and peers. He never wavered from his beliefs and convictions. Elrick Colin Payne will be missed, but always remembered as a man who stood tall. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the McHoul Family Funeral Home, 354 Adams St. Dorchester. A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. following the visitation.
