Damien Fernandes

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Damien Lemar Fernandes. Damien was born on April 7, 1986, in Boston, Massachusetts. He passed on January 20, 2024, leaving a gap that will be hard to fill in the hearts of those who loved him. Known for his loyal spirit, boundless love, humorous antics, and adventurous soul, Damien was the embodiment of joy and happiness.

His years of service at the National Grid were filled with commitment and camaraderie, as was his time with the Mass Water Resources Authority. Damien enjoyed: fishing, swimming, traveling, riding his dirt bikes, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. His adventurous spirit always led him to the beach, where he would relax and recharge while drinking a cold beer and some good old tequila.

To know Damien was to love him. Damien was a beloved husband to Sharmila, whom he met in 2003 and married on July 18, 2018. His legacy will live on through his three sons, Joshua, Jayden, and Jacobi. He leaves behind his loving parents, Dad: Robert, Bonus Mom: Liz, Mother: Tracy, and Step-father Robert Gilchrist. He also leaves behind his loving grandfather, Robert Hall Fernandes Jr. Damien also leaves behind his siblings, Ashley, Bailey (Owen), Ethan, Troy and his cousin, Levar Fernandes, who he cherished like a brother. His beloved nieces and nephews: Hector, Rosalina, Jeremiah, Jordyn, Raylani, Justice and Mia. His loving in-laws: Bethlyn and Boze Baldeo, sister in law: Radha, and Brother In Laws: Devon and Derek. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edna, Henry and Shirley, and his brother-in-law, Tyrone. He was deeply loved by his extended family and an abundance of friends.

Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Damien's life during the visitation from 5 - 9pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, at McHoul Family Funeral Home, 354 Adams Street, Dorchester, Massachusetts. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 9:30am at the same location. The cremation witness will be at 11:30am at Forest Hills Crematory, 171 Walk Hill Street, Boston, Massachusetts.

The Fernandes & Baldeo welcomes all to the repast that will be held at M.A.M.L.E.O,
61 Columbia Rd. Boston, MA 02121, following the cremation at 2pm.
