Wilner Borgella, 87, of Dorchester passed away peacefully on Friday May 30, 2020. Wilner was born on February 1, 1933 in Port-Au-Prince Haiti. He was the son of his late parents Vital and Montala Borgella. He was the youngest of 5 children. Wilner was brother to Ludendorff and Joseph and to his sisters Denise and Louisa who have all passed before him. Wilner was a devoted and caring husband to his beautiful wife Marie for 52 blessed years. They were married at Saint Anne church in Haiti. God blessed them with 7 precious children. Wilner was a loving father to his sons Volvedge, Holsen, Wilner with wife Marie Antoinette, and Wensler. Wilner was a great father to his daughters Bernonde with husband Oscar, Montala, and Marie with husband David. Wilner was grandfather to Alexander, Andre, Amanda, Victoria, Derek, Norbert Jr., Marie and Daniel. He was pre-dececeased by his twin granddaughters Melissa and Theresa. Wilner was great-grandfather to Cannon and Alivia. Wilner was Godfather to Elcy and Myrlene. Wilner was a loving Uncle to his nephews, Ludendorff, Jean Jacques, Godfois, and Joseph. Wilner was a loving Uncle to his nieces Beatrice, Montala, Frantzy, MarieLourde, and Elcy. Wilner migrated to the United States in 1969 to prepare a place for his wife and children that would soon follow him to the United States. Wilner was very dedicated to his family and worked extremely hard his entire life to support them. He worked many long hours to ensure that all his children would have an excellent education. Wilner was a skilled mechanic and became a teacher at Gibe Danie educating his students in the fundamentals and skilled trade of automotive mechanics. He also worked for the Shell Company installing and servicing gasoline pumps throughout Haiti. By the time he left Haiti he was a highly qualified machinist. Wilner worked for General Dynamics in Quincy, MA for 18 years as a Maintenance Machinist inspecting and reading blueprints. During his tenure at General Dynamics he also attended ITT Tech for Diesel technology. When the shipyard closed Wilner moved on to work as a supervisor for Proctor and Gamble before joining the Boston Fire Department. Wilner worked as an Automotive Mechanic at the Boston Fire Department Headquarters. He repaired and serviced fire trucks and various vehicles for 21 years before retiring. Wilner enjoyed listening to music, taking long walks, spending time with his family, telling jokes, watching the news and so much more. Wilner was very loving and went above and beyond for all the members of his family. He was very charitable and would never cease to help his loved ones and many others whom he encountered. Wilner was a devoted Catholic with very strong faith. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, co-worker, neighbor and friend. He will be sorely missed and his memory will live in our hearts forever.
