Edward P. Gibbons

September 18, 1947 - January 22, 2022

Edward P. Gibbons of Boston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 74 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn (White) Gibbons. Son of the late Alice (Finley) and Edward Gibbons. Loving father of Pamela Gibbons, Edward “Teddy” Gibbons, Jr., and Jeffrey Gibbons, all of Dorchester. Cherished grandfather of Joseph Fonseca, Jay Gibbons and Madeline Gibbons also all of Dorchester. Adored brother of the late Catherine A. LoPresti, Alice DiMaggio, Anne DiMaggio and James Gibbons. Edward was born in Boston and lived in Dorchester all his life. He attended St. Ambrose School in Dorchester and went on to graduate from high school. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. Edward worked for Peerless Market and the US Postal Service from 1986-2018 before his retirement. Edward was a member of the Old Dorchester Post. He was a loving Pa to his 3 grandchildren. He loved animals of all kinds, enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, WWF wrestling and scratching lottery tickets. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4-8 PM at McHoul Funeral Home, 354 Adams Street, Dorchester. A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams St., Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
