Aderito Alves Barbosa, 35 of Dorchester, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of November 1st, 2019. Born on March 28th 1984 he was the loving son of Lucas P. and Maria C. Barbosa of Dorchester. In addition to his parents, Aderito is survived by his siblings, Maria A. Barbosa, Osvaldo A. Barbosa, Olimpio A. Barbosa, Laudina A. Barbosa and Lenita A. Barbosa; his nephews, Jaivyn Barbosa-Lopes, Elijah Flores and Nathaniel Flores; his nieces, Josslyn Barbosa-Mordan, Saleah Gomes; also by many extended family and friends. Aderito moved to Boston in 1986 at the age of two from his family’s native country of Cabo Verde. He was an adorable and precocious young child, eager for adventure and had a lively personality that people adored and gravitated towards. He aspired to be prosperous and remain positive throughout all his journeys. Generous and kind-hearted, Aderito never hesitated to offer a helping hand, supportive words or a joke to make you smile. He strived to continuously evolve mentally and spiritually and was a well-respected and loved individual who tried his best to succeed in life. With his witty sense of humor and caring heart he’d always have those around him feel at ease. In his leisurely time Aderito was an avid boxing fan who and enjoyed listening to music, fashion and the finer things in life. As a youth he enjoyed roller blading and baseball with his brothers and also winning awards in some. His biggest hobby was collecting specialty baseball caps of all sorts, his favorites being anything all white. Always ready for the next adventure, Aderito wanted to travel the world and experience all the joys in life. Most recently coming back from an amazing vacation with his family throughout the glorious Islands of Cabo Verde. There he had the pleasure of meeting for the first time new family members and to explore the Islands rich culture which he had dream of for so many years. While there, because of his robust energy he made friends everywhere he went and made lasting impressions to those he came across. He’s noted as saying that during his trip to Cabo Verde he was the happiest he had ever been in his life. Coming home feeling renewed and ready for the next chapter of his life. From the US to Cape Verde all that loved Aderito are so saddened and hearts are heavy by the loss of such a high-spirited and loving individual. His vibrant shine will be missed dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4 - 8 p.m on Friday, November 8, 2019 in the St. Peter's Church, 309 Bowdoin Street, Dorchester. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 in the St. Peter's Church, 309 Bowdoin Street, Dorchester. Burial will follow in the New Calvary Cemetery, 800 Harvard Street, Mattapan.
